Ladies, girls of all ages are welcome to attend this portion. During this time there will be a short welcome – dining – and lots of time to visit and reminisce with family and friends.

At approximately 7:30PM all attendees go to the Sanctuary for the program by St. John’s Bell Choir. EVERYONE is invited to the entertainment program… including men, girls & boys…. arrive by 7:30PM or sooner and please be seated in Sanctuary.

Celebrate Mothers Day with Salem.

Fathers are honored each Father's Day at Salem with carnations and prizes. The Methodist Women of Salem coordinate these activities. Love gifts are also given to two men of the church who have given of their time, talents and love in service to our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Special music is provided by Salem Choir.

Salem Youth often give a special presentation to honor fathers.

10th Annual “Family Night Out with Christ”

Come join in the fun at Salem’s Night Out with Christ

• Bring your lawn chairs/blankets

• Supper at 6:00PM includes hotdogs, coney dogs, mac & cheese, baked beans

Many entertaining activities are planned:

• Pumpkin painting

• Campfire

• Candy Dig

• Hayride

• Family Christian fellowship

• Food, s’mores

The event will take place in the grassy area west of the church. Parking in the church parking lot. All ages welcome. You may invite friends and their families to participate as well. This is a community event.

SALEM HONORS VETERANS

In 2012 Salem Church started a second Veteran’s Recognition Plaque to complement the one established in the 1950s. This was done because Salem Methodist Church of Zionsville respectfully continues to honor member veterans as well as veteran friends of Salem. It is thanks to our Veterans that we in the United States continue to remain free and are able to freely worship per our U. S. Constitution.



Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or profiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or of the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

Hanging of the Greens at Salem Church takes place after the regular 9:15AM Worship Service on the Sunday preceding the 1st Sunday in Advent. Advent runs Sun, Dec 1, 2024 – Tue, Dec 24, 2024.

Members and friends (of all ages – our youth particularly enjoy this event) stay after church to adorn Salem Church with our traditional Christmas decorations and also the displaying of the Manger Scene with Baby Jesus.

Additionally, members donate poinsettias which beautify the altar area in December, including Salem's Christmas Eve Service.

The youth of Salem Church under the direction of Salem's youth ministry along with the assistance of Sunday School teachers, parents and the Salem Choir present the Annual Youth Christmas Program in full costume at the 9:15 Worship Service. 

Many of the youth of Salem have participated in the program for several years following in the footsteps of their parents and grandparents when they attended Salem Church as children.

Christmas plays have been performed at Salem Church in Zionsville, Indiana on the 3rd Sunday in Advent each December.

Come worship this Christmas Eve at Zionsville's most historic and friendly country church. Salem Methodist Church was Established in 1834.


This beautiful and traditional Candlelight Christmas Eve Service begins at 9:00 p.m. Special music is always a part of this service which closes with the traditional lighting of candles and the singing of Silent Night by the congregation. The current Salem sanctuary from 1885 takes on an enchanting glow during this wonderful evening service which praises the Birth of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior.
