Veterans are honored annually at Salem United Methodist Church of Zionsville usually on the 2nd Sunday in November (contact church office or calendar for specific date...317-873-4105.) Special music and awards are presented to military personnel in attendance that Sunday during Salem's 9:15 a.m. Worship Service. All military branches are observed and honored for their service to protect our country's freedom. Military persons are encouraged to wear their uniforms, hats and/or military awards on that Sunday.
On November 11, 2012 a special plaque presentation was made to Salem Church to honor all veterans since World War II. This plaque complements the World War II plaque currently displayed in the Sanctuary Annex. Mr. Ben Pauley coordinated this project on behalf of the Archive, Beautification & Historical Committee for Salem Church. Salem members or frequent attendees who have served in any branch/capacity in the military are eligible to have their names on the plaque. Additional names will be added annually each Veteran’s Day.
Simply provide your ‘official military name,’ branch of service, rank, # of years served, and the years served plus any additional information you would like to provide for Salem Church records to Ben at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
